It was when British Food Writer Jennie Milsom was researching and writing Café Life London (pub 2012) that she started to consider opening her own café.
She was spending months getting to know all these great cafés in London but none were within walking distance to her home in South-East London.
Something needed to be done. Lots of other people in the area were missing out on good coffee, too!
She already knew how to make a coffee from barista training in Auckland where she worked in some of the city's best cafés for nearly two years. She knew about food from cheffing in restaurants in London and Auckland and from recipe writing from working in magazine publishing, writing for publications including Good Housekeeping magazine.
She decided to set up a café of her own
